The Education Director will lead the strategy, implementation and supervision of the Youth Empowerment Programs providing human trafficking and facilitator training and consultation to school districts and youth-serving agencies. The position is responsible for the development and delivery of presentations/trainings that are research-, survivor- and data-informed. Priority Application Deadline is March 10th, 2018. Registration Now Open for "Race Against Trafficking" 5K on April 28, 2018

REGISTER FOR THE THURSTON COUNTY "RACE AGAINST TRAFFICKING" 5K HERE Join the Thurston County Coalition Against Trafficking, an initiative of Washington Trafficking Prevention, on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 for the annual "Race Against Trafficking 5K Run/Walk." Help raise awareness of Human Trafficking in our community and what YOU can do to prevent it.  This is a Fun Run, so bring family and friends, and run, walk, skip, or push a stroller... your choice!  Youth aged 18 and under are only $10 and receive a t-shirt!  Learn more and register here. Washington Engage Has a New Executive Director!

Kerri Pedrick has joined WA Engage as the Executive Director. Her passion and experience is in empowering and directly supporting young people, refugees and those who serve them. For the last seven years, Kerri has served in different areas of leadership at Peace Community Center in Tacoma, WA. Kerri's education is in community-based social work with a master’s degree in Social Enterprise Administration from Columbia University School of Social Work in New York, NY. She grew up in rural eastern Washington but has called Tacoma home for the last 13 years, where she lives with her husband James and daughter Penny. Kerri is excited to put her passion, experience and skills to work to help prevent human trafficking by protecting and empowering the most vulnerable in our communities.

New Take On Program for Youth!

This week WA Engage is training the first group of facilitators for the new Take On Olympia Program! Housed in the Thurston County Juvenile Court, male and female facilitators will be working with at-risk youth in the detention center, on probation and also civil youth, to engage them in the fight against human trafficking.
